Google Maps adds bicycle routes

MONDAY, MARCH 15, 2010 AT 9:37AM
Google recently added a directions feature which can potentially help bicyclist. When activated, the interstate highways are avoided and roads with bike paths are preferred.
It must be warned that this feature is in beta. The directions given should not be fully trusted and cyclist should use their own judgement regarding safety. If the bicycle directions send you on a dangerous path, users can report issues directly to Google.

This feature can potentially be useful to e-bicyclist looking for safe routes, however the estimated trip duration can be very inaccurate as e-bikes can have much higher average speeds compared with human-only powered bicycles.
