The highlight of the week was visiting the Bafang factory to see our new jointly developed 1,000 Watt “mag” motor for the HyperScorpion. We wanted a motor with high torque, class 3+ speed on the 20" form factor, cassettes gearing, but with retro-modern looks. This type of motor didn’t exist when we started development on the Hyper, so we partnered with Bafang to produce this benchmark-setting motor. It has taken a full year to get to this point and it's very exciting to finally see the mass-produced units. We are calling the new motor RetroBlade, a Juiced Bikes exclusive!
Earlier in the week, our factory received the first production batch of the new HyperScorpion motors. We’re now carefully validating their performance. We’re also continuing to improve the packaging, and receiving additional parts for the HyperScorpion.
All of the Standard Scorpions are now moving very smoothly off the production line. Our next shipments of black and blue Scorpions will be arriving in San Diego in just a couple of weeks. We’ll have a busy month shipping these bikes to our Scorpion Indiegogo backers and pre-order customers.
